Unleashing Africa

Adventure begins at the end of your comfort zone

Tofauti on the Move

'Tofauti’ is a Swahili word meaning change, hence our motto -

“Changing lives across Africa” and our slogan is “Making the difference”

Tofauti On The Move is a youth community based NGO that combats current contemporary social issues by instilling social elevation through enabling and bringing together educationally empowered young citizens. It works with children in Primary school whose reading and writing skills are too weak for them to have a meaningful interaction in the classroom.

Our aim is to give the gift of reading to children. Our interns will have a first hand experience in impacting the life of a child.

Kids Comp Camp Program

Kids Comp Camp is a digital literacy initiative that seeks to front the spread of digital literacy amongst kids living in rural and marginalized communities in Africa. This event is organized by African Centurion - a social intervention initiative that aims at using knowledge transfer as a formidable tool in fighting Africa’s Big 3: Ignorance, Poverty and Sickness, among African youths.

The project begins in Machakos County. A few kilometres away from Nairobi. Masii Township Primary School has agreed to host us. Masii Christian Chapel has partnered with us to mobilize the community towards the project. So far 60 Kids have signed up; we project the number to expand to 80. 20 volunteers’ trainers have confirmed their attendance; we project the number to grow to 30. We have secured 20 training machines.

Heart to Health Project

This is a project under health. We are working in various hospitals which are usually understaffed, or accept extra help needed. Heart to Health project bridges this path by bringing in quality EPs who will help these hospitals and motivate these patients as this is something that is over-looked by the Kenyan staff.

In addition to working with nurses, the EP is counted on to be a friend to the patients and make them feel wanted and feel like they are cared for, which is something that helps a great deal in the recovery process of the intern. The project is open to EPs with medical and non-medical experience. The Job Description into: medical students vs non-medical students.

Mwangaza

We have a national project called Mwangaza.
'Mwangaza' in Kiswahili means 'Lighting' or 'Brightness'.

This project aims to provide lighting to households that cannot afford it by converting bottles to natural lamps.

The project has two rounds, 1st round begins on the 1st of July and the 2nd round begins on the 16th of August.

The project will entail many life-changing responsibilities such as fixing the bottles in the roofs of houses and possibly some schools, delivering personal development training to the Kenyan youth involved in the project,  and sensitizing the community on the importance of reusing and recycling, and educating them on how the bottles work & replacing them just to name a few.
